Pisane™
Derived from: peas
Used for protein enrichment purposes or as an alternative to other proteins: Pisane™ is a plant-based ingredient obtained from yellow peas (Pisum sativum) and exhibits highly functional, nutritionally valuable properties. The isolated pea protein is used in nutrition bars for athletes, because of its high branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) and arginine content. It has applications in nutrition for the elderly – it is a purely plant-based, easily digestible source of protein. It also has applications in non-dairy, soya- and gluten-free beverages as well as in weight reduction products.
Pisane™ is available in a range of different types. Pisane™ B9, for example, is suitable for protein enrichment of baked products: this type has little impact on dough viscosity, while providing benefits in terms of volume and texture.
